Mid-Year Leadership Conference 2010

Pi Kappa Phi's Mid-Year Leadership Conference 2010.Pi Kappa Phi’s Mid Year Leadership Conference is an officer training institute held each January in multiple cities across the country. Seven leaders from each chapter attend Mid-Year to connect with brothers, get answers about running a chapter, and engage in the leadership of Pi Kappa Phi.

Attendance

Each chapter is required to send at least eight delegates.

Ten program tracks are available: archon, vice archon, treasurer, secretary, warden, historian, chaplain, Push America chairman, risk manager, and standards chairman

The archon, vice archon, treasurer, warden and risk manager must attend. Extra delegates are encouraged to attend.

Cost

The conference fee is $1,295 for your chapter’s eight required delegates. Each chapter was billed on November 2. The fee for each extra delegate is $185. The deadline for registration and payment of all fees is December 1.

Itinerary

Arrive by 5:00 p.m. at the latest on Friday. Check-in begins at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Depart on Sunday afternoon.

Hotel

Your hotel stay is included in the conference fee. Each delegate will share a hotel room with one delegate from your chapter and two delegates from another chapter.

Meals

Lunch and dinner on Saturday are provided.

Expansion

  • Nationals need names for new expansion schools

  • Especially WPI – need men to petition IFC to let them expand
  • Email DiPietro with any leads

Initiation

  • Alumni initiate process – email Pearson with name and why they should be initiated
  • Exec council has to discuss

Acapella Concert

  • This is our big fall Push event!
  • Groups coming:
    • The Mount Holyoke V-8s
    • The Northampton High School Hamptones
    • Doo-Wop Shop
    • Vocal Suspects
    • The Smith College Noteables
    • The Stony Brook High C’s
  • Need brothers to help set up, spread word, other misc. jobs
  • Need brothers to spread the word!
  • Can’t bring tickets around and sell, have to be bought at Tix Unlimited
  • Maybe reception after? So don’t have to buy campus center food for performers
  • ANDERSON to send out email about jobs
  • SLOCUM to design advertisements
  • Can’t get t-shirts donated from Silver Screen Printshop – lost contract with UMass

Race

  • No 5k race/walk this year!
  • Working on bike race to mirror Little 500 in Indiana
  • Has historically raised 1.5 million for scholarship
  • 200 lap race
  • Maybe in front of stadium?
  • Maybe FAC horseshoe?
  • Presented to SDT – might be doing autism awareness race and can’t commit to help
  • Takes everyone’s involvement!
