Words cannot express the gratitude Push America has towards the support received during the Chase Community Giving contest. In two short months we’ve witnessed first-hand the impact Push America has made on thousands of individuals. With your help and support we were awarded a $25,000 grant with which Push America has an opportunity to impact more lives.

Spread the Word 2010

Push America is teaming up with Special Olympics and Best Buddies for the second annual day of awareness to Spread the Word to End the Word on March 3. The goal of Spread the Word to End the Word is to get people to stop and think about their hurtful and disparaging use of the word “retard(ed)” and pledge to stop using it.

Push America Challenge: Cooper River Bridge Run

Join Push America at the birthplace of Pi Kappa Phi on March 27, 2010 as a member of the Push America Challenge: Cooper River Bridge Run team in Charleston, S.C. With over 30,000 participants annually, it is regarded as one of the premiere 10k road races on the east coast. There is no better way to see historic Charleston Harbor than from the crest of the bridge.

Push America Announces Text Giving

Push America is proud to announce a new partnership with mGive, a text-to-give organization that could take Push America’s fundraising to the next level. As you may have seen most recently with the earthquake relief in Haiti, text giving is a new fundraising model that Push America, with the help of mGive, is now utilizing for all areas of fundraising (including chapter and team member). You can now donate $5 at any time via text message, which will automatically be added to your phone bill!

2010 Ride Alongs Confirmed

Push America is covering both coasts as we plan the 2010 Pi Alpha Ride Alongs! We will be coordinating rides in San Francisco, Cali. on June 11-12, and Charlotte, N.C. on August 7-8. The San Francisco ride will tour the city the first day and relive the first day of your Journey of Hope experience by riding to Napa on the second. In Charlotte we will ride the first half of the route with the south team on their way to High Point and will do a scenic ride around Charlotte on Sunday. Make a call to your past team members and relive your days on the bike with Push America and the 2010 Ride Along events. Registration will begin online February 15, 2010. South Route Change Update

In December, Push America announced changes coming to the Journey of Hope South route, featuring new cities where there is a real opportunity to impact the lives of people with disabilities. In January, the first scouting of the new route was completed. Below is a review of the new South route and information on how you can contribute to the team’s success by sponsoring lodging, a meal or an event.
