Old Business

  • Recruitment updates – Joe Bliss
  • Strategic Retreat outcome & review – Joe Fox & Russell Brown
  • Voting Procedure for By-Laws presented. Will be voted on next chapter meeting
  • Amendment #1 is clear – Theta Mu Alcohol Policy Repealed
  • Amendment #2 Proposal: “Any event that is sanctioned by the Executive Council by the Theta Mu Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity will require a 2/3 majority vote to allow alcohol at the event. The alcohol that is provided at the event must only come from a licensed Third Party vendor. This policy pertains to events such as Winter Formal, Awards Banquet, Rose Ball, and Socials where there is a Third Party Vendor present.”
  • Conversation still needs to be continued. Voting will happen in two weeks

New Business

Standards Board Presentation & Ceremony

  • Curtis Corthell & Josh Slocum have been elected as Standards Board Justices
  • First time in a long time that we have a fully functioning standards board
  • Standards Board should ultimately be a forum for Ultimate Respect
    • any brother has the right to file a complaint with the Standards Board for any reason
    • the complaint form will be published be on the website
  • Standards Board’s goal is to determine the best solution for the brother in question
    • to be used as a support tool to help our brothers
    • not to be used as punishment
  • A Standards Boards decision may be overruled

Focus of Chapter & Goal Setting – Russell Brown

  • Small Groups – choose the 5 goals you like best for this year
    • Group 1 chooses Goal #10
    • Group 2 chooses Goal #10
    • Group 3 chooses Goal #8
    • Group 4 chooses Goal #12
    • Group 5 chooses all of them!
    • Group 6 chooses Goal #20
    • Group 7 chooses Goal #9
    • Group 8 chooses Goal #17
    • Group 9 chooses Goal #6
    • Group 10 chooses Goal #20
  • Goals #4, 5, 6, 8, and 10 are approved
    • Goal #4 – We aim to finish among top 10 PiKapp chapters for Push America fundraising
    • Goal #5 – We aim to recruit and initiate 45 new brothers next year
    • Goal #6 – We aim to institute a successful, fully-function Academic Program, incorporate its scope and function into our by-laws
    • Goal #8 – We aim to reinvigorate the chapter with the traditions of Pi Kappa Phi and to increase Brotherhood retention
    • Goal #10 – We aim to improve overall level of productivity
  • We will spend time in next chapter meetings making sure we are following through and accomplishing those goals

Budget Updates – Mike DiPietro

  • Dues contract
  • Payment dates
    • $130 due by Feb 15
    • $130 due by Feb 28
    • $110 due by March 21

Push America – Andrew Venooker

  • Concert Update
    • We are not holding our usual 5K road race
    • Instead we are hosting a talent or variety show
    • We need 100% commitment from all brothers because individuals cannot do it on their own
    • We will be canning & going to local businesses selling ads for a program
  • Concert/Variety Show will happen March 28th

Intramural Basketball and Dodgeball Teams – Chris Silvia

  • Next Game: Feb 2, 8:30pm in Boyden Gym
  • The last game went well. We were in it for the most part, but unfortunately were not victorious
  • We’re optimistic for the rest of the semester
  • There will be a dodgeball game next week. Talk to Karthik or Silvia if you would like to be on the roster
  • If you show up at game time, you can be added then
  • Please bring your Spire number & card

Music Chair: Valentines Day Singing – Billy Anderson

  • Creating an event (probably) Feb 13, to serenade sororities around campus
  • If interested, email Billy Anderson especially if you can sing or read music

IFC Update – Andy Dawson

  • Preliminary Greek Week schedule finished
  • We are paired with Alpha Epsilon Phi
  • Greek Week will include an all-Greek BBQ event (not on the schedule yet)
  • If interested in Greek Week sports teams, please see Karthik or Paul Levitan about practice schedules

Attire – Joe Bliss

  • Tuesday, Feb 2nd – wear letters
  • Wednesday, Feb 3rd – wear recruitment shirt
  • Thursday, Feb 4th – wear shirt, tie, and pin

Social – Mike DiPietro

  • Bowling with Sigma Kappa – March 11th
