Old Business

Greek Leadership Conference – Russell Brown

  • Happened this past Saturday from 11 – 3:00 pm
  • Introduced us to all of the services that they have to offer

New Business

New Member Ed Retreat – Derek Nokes

  • This coming weekend – March 5-7th
  • Will leave this Friday and return Sunday afternoon
  • Meet in Southwest before heading out to Easter Seals Camp Hemlocks, in Hebron, CT
  • If you cannot make the whole weekend, try to make it as along as you can
  • Show the new 10 Thetas some support

Budget – Mike DiPietro

  • $130 due today
  • Due after chapter if you did not pay Mike DiPietro during the meeting (talk with him if you have any concerns)

Push America – Andrew Venooker

  • Reminder: concert is rapidly approaching (March 28th)
  • If you know of any groups that you think might be interested, contact Andrew Venooker ASAP
  • Ad sales packets and instructions have been completed
  • Break up into groups (2-3) and do this week and before spring break
  • Talk to Andrew Venooker to see ways in which you can help solicit for donations and for ad sales to raise support and awareness for Push America and for the Variety Show

Greek Week Update – Karthik Sugumaran

  • Karthik and Paul have been meeting with KKG and Sigma Lambda Gamma and ATG about getting contacts established and to get everyone pumped
  • We will have a mixer with Kappa and the other groups so that we can better familiarize ourselves with them so that we can win!
  • Entire Greek Week schedule has been posted on the Facebook group online. Talk to Karthik if you have not seen this group
  • Look at Greek Week schedule ahead of time so that you can alleviate any academic complications that arise so that we can encourage high attendance
  • We need to submit rosters for the teams so if there are any events that you are interested in playing or participating in please talk to Karthik and Paul about the details – we are definitely in this to win this!
  • Page 204 of the White Diamond – please go home and learn this so that we can chant it during our events!

IFC Update – Andrew Dawson

  • Looking for people to show up to the town meeting for the Alcohol fines – May 3 – right now there is a small coalition of people that want to proceed on the Fraternity’s stand point. If interested, talk to Andy Dawson
  • As a Greek Council they decided that we all will still be participating in Relay For Life (it is no longer a part of Greek Week, but Greek’s should still represent!)

Social – Greg LeMoine

  • Thursday March 11 – from 9:00 – 12:00 – bowling with Sigma Kappa
  • $11 gets you pizza and bowling
  • talk to Greg LeMoine if you have any questions about the event

Alumni Initiates – Russell Brown

  • In the past we have initiated someone on campus or the fathers of brothers, so if you know of anyone that you think could be an Alumni Initiate please give the contact details to Brandon Kurtich
  • Talk to Alumni to see if we can get the contact information for the founding fathers of our chapter who did not initiate for varying reasons to see if they would like to be initiated

Constitution – Russell Brown

  • Concerns from Mike Dipietro
    • Article 1 Section 4A – Pay all initiation and pre initiation in full
    • Nothing about GPA – See code of conduct for GPA Requirements
    • Article 1 Section 5 – Unneccesary for constitution
    • Article 2 Section 3 – Meet with Archon and not standards board
    • Article 3 Section 1 – Sentence not written correctly
    • Article 4 Section 5 – Executive Councils may execute there right to vote
    • Article 5 Section 3 – Executive council officer appointed to be archon shall not be able to run for emergency period
    • Article 5 Section 4 – Motion to change procedure for vacant seat
    • Article 7 Section 2 – Elections no Push elections scheduled, Add to include midterm elections occur in spring for Push exec and any other position in which there is a vacancy. Motion carries.
    • Article 9 Section 4 – Executive officers have the powers enter a contract-should it be only an exec member?-Permission of Archon-Contradiction-take out Archon, add to executive council pending Archon’s Permission-supreme law overrules TBD – needs fine tuning
    • Article 11 – not amendment 11 Section 1 – Academic year last sentence
    • Amendments 2 votes – unrealistic
  • Concerns from Karthik Sugumaran
    • Archons power to veto Article 7 Section 1-Motion passed
  • Concerns from Jitesh Khushalani
    • Article 8 Section 3 – Chapter meetings at least one chapter meeting a month will be a brothers only meeting
  • Proposed Changes
    • Article 5 Section 4 – Consider motion for vacant seat on Executive Council
